Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation's President Chris Jones talks about MTEMC's efforts to purchase Murfreesboro Electric Department.

He talks about the reasons behind their efforts and that 150-acres of land have been purchased on Veterans Parkway, near State Route 840, for a regional and local headquarters and service site. Currently, MTEMC has this area's service plant on St. Andrews Drive and their corporate headquarters are on the New Salem Highway.

MTEMC basically serves areas within Williamson, Rutherford and Wilson counties. Currently, Jones indicated that here in Tennessee, only the city run utilities in Shelby County and Metro Nashville are larger than MTEMC.
