Homecoming Weekend continues at Middle Tennessee State University. The big parade starts at Central Magnet School at 10:00 o'clock this morning (Saturday, 10/6/2012) and continues down East Main and onto Middle Tennessee Boulevard. At 12:30 this afternoon a special ceremony to rename the road that surrounds Walnut Grove will take place. The new name is Harrison-Black Circle. The event, which is part of this year’s homecoming festivities, will commemorate the 1909 purchase of property owned by Tom Harrison and Joe Black for the creation of Middle Tennessee State Normal School.

MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee will make remarks at this historic event, and three markers will be placed at locations around the circle.  The ceremony will take place on the sidewalk between Jones Hall and Todd Hall.
