MTSU's Spring Enrollment Down Almost 4%

MTSU officials said spring 2012 enrollment should be slightly below that of spring 2011, when 24,660 students were registered for classes. As of January 5th, the university's spring enrollment stood at 22,659. The numbers will change daily as students register even after classes start.

Classes begin this Thursday (1/12/2012) and student body estimates are projected to be 23,700 students expected to attend. That's a decline of almost 4 per cent when compared to the record fall 2011 enrollment of 26,442 students.

The University already is a healthier campus. With the New Year, MTSU became tobacco-free.
