Murfreesboro Police Chief Glenn Chrisman announces his retirement on December 31st, 2015.
More than 25-thousand dollars worth of stolen weapons, jewelry and antiques were recovered when a burglary suspect was apprehended after crashing during a two-county pursuit. Rutherford County Sheriff's Detective Captain David Hailey tells WGNS News the pursuit of 31-year old Kenneth Churchhill happened Friday, September 21st around noon in Wilson County...
Detective Steve Brown, whose concentration is the Smyrna area, says burglars typically only commit crimes in a particular area...
Brown says one of the keys to breaking this crime spree was a homeowner in Wilson County, who had a digital video surveillance system. The description from that video helped authorities identify the vehicle involved in the pursuit and link Churchhill to the crimes. Thirteen burglaries have been linked to Pecan Ridge Drive man and more are pending. Some of the burglaries occurred as far back as June of this year. It's believed Churchhill may have been involved in up to 30-home break-ins in Rutherford, Wilson and Williamson Counties. Detectives say it's still an active investigation with more charges possible against Churchhill.
