La Vergne Police along with La Vergne Fire worked a multi-vehicle crash that occurred a little before 6:00 o'clock Thursday evening (12/18/2014) at 491 Waldron Road.

La Vergne spokesperson John Fesmire told NewsRadio WGNS that an 18-wheeler and a car collided, and then slammed into two more vehicles that were parked at a business.

Miraculously, no injuries were reported. However, tempers flared for motorists heading home on I-24. Both lanes of the interstate were slowed as persons attempted to exit onto the highly traveled Waldron Road. It was too late for most of them, because they were already in the grid-lock traffic when they discovered the problem. Heavy utility pole equipment was used to replace the main power pole that was sheared at the base. Traffic frustration continued for about 3-hours.
