Murder Reported in Walmart Parking Lot in Murfreesboro -

UPDATE: Murfreesboro Police have released the names of the two men killed on Wednesday night in the Walmart parking lot. 19-year old Latre R. Lillard (DOB 3/16/94) from Murfreesboro and 19-year old Andre D. Chesterfield (DOB 3/15/94), also from Murfreesboro are both dead. Major Clyde Atkinson told WGNS the investigation is continuing at this point and no arrests have been made. Major Atkinson also stated that there are no suspects at this point.

Murfreesboro Police are investigating a possible double murder that occurred at 10:56 p.m. Wednesday night. Sgt. Kyle Evans told WGNS. “MPD officers were called to the Walmart at 2000 Old Fort Pkwy to investigate two subjects unresponsive on the ground in the parking lot.” 

Evans further stated, “When officers arrived, they found two males on the ground deceased.  The Violent Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit responded and are investigating.”

A witness told police when she pulled into the parking she observed two black male subjects laying face down on the ground. The witness called police and when officers arrived, they reported a large amount of blood on the ground near the head of the victims. There was also a large amount of shattered glass near the two deceased men. The bodies were found next to an older model Ford Ranger and a 1990’s model Nissan Maxima. Their identity has not been released. The exact manner of death has not been released.  

Detectives have identified a blue or gray four door sedan as the vehicle driven by the suspect(s).  On the vehicle, both the driver's side and passenger side front or back windows are broken out. WGNS has posted a picture of the car on WGNSradio.com (above).
