The goals of the 12 week program are to educate, exchange ideas, and familiarize citizens with current law enforcement operations. The academy covers topics such as Uniformed Division policies and procedures, traffic enforcement and investigation, criminal investigations, communications, Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) philosophies, as well as other topics as they relate to the operation of the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman stated: “We are excited to see the 27th CPA class graduate and we are pleased to see so many citizens take an interest in their community and specifically in the Murfreesboro Police Department.”
