Murfreesboro City Council, 1-26-12

Police Chief Glenn Chrisman visited the city council at their January 26th meeting, to recap the city's crime trends in the last year, down overall.  The Parks & Recreation Director purchased two replacement 60” riding mowers, and council rezoned 50.92 acres along SE Broad Street to Highway Commercial District, as well as 0.42 acres along N. Maney Avenue and 0.4 acres on East Main Street.  The amendment to the city code allowing the wholesale of liquor was approved again upon second reading, and one public hearing was scheduled to consider rezoning property along Memorial Boulevard from planned commercial development to local commercial.  That hearing is scheduled for March 1st.  Finally, contracts are being drafted up to continue construction along Veterans Parkway; phase 2A of that project is set to begin soon.  And the city will abandon Cherry Laurel Lane along Robert Rose Drive, as well as Stephenson Drive, which will soon be renamed to General Mills Way upon request of the namesake company.
