Making a 3-year old girl stand in the corner of a room for fifteen hours with a sock in her mouth as a form of punishment is just one of the accusations that a 28-year old South Church Street resident faces. Murfreesboro Police questioned Joseph L. Price after receiving word from the Department of Children Services that he had excessively punished the young child.

DCS first opened an investigation into Price this past November after learning that the child had injuries to her legs, back, rear end and head. During an interview, Price allegedly admitted that he had gone too far in paddling the child. Price evidently stated that he took the 3-year olds pull-ups off prior to whipping her.

Price was arrested after charges of aggravated child abuse and child abuse were handed down by the December grand jury. He was booked into the local jail under a $15,000 bond.

The child was removed from the custody of Price and placed in the care of DCS.
