Murfreesboro Police responded to Murfreesboro Pawn and Gun when a 47-year old man allegedly tried to purchase a gun who evidently had a warrant for his arrest.

When the store ran through the Tennessee Instant Check System, a computer database for gun stores to find out if a customer can buy a gun, a specific hit came back against Mark Alan Clement. That so called hit was out of Nashville for a theft between $10,000 and $60,000.

Police were notified by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and responded to the store. Officers confirmed that Clement was indeed wanted in Nashville for a theft charge.

Needless to say, the gun was not purchased and Clement was taken to the jail in Rutherford County where he was held to be transferred to Nashville.

Clement will face the courts in Davidson County in the near future.
