A man who police saw drive into a small ditch while trying to make a turn was arrested on a DUI charge. After the subject ran into the ditch, he allegedly drove off at a high rate of speed.

Police followed the Ford Taurus and Officer Eric Renfroe reported that while following the subject, the driver again attempted to make a turn, but again exited the roadway and into a ditch. The car eventually pulled into a driveway on Major Drive which is where police spoke to suspect David DeWayne Bass.

Once in booking at the Sheriff's Office, Bass refused to submit to a blood alcohol content test. A warrant was then obtained to draw the blood of Bass.

The 55 year old man will appear in court on July 7, 2016. As of Monday, Bass remains behind bars.
