Murfreesboro man falls victim to a female through a dating website

A 53-year old Murfreesboro man who met a woman through an online dating website called the police to report fraud.

The victim stated that "Jenny" had been in communication with him by way of phone, the OKcupid website and his personal FaceBook page since June of this year. She even stated that she worked as in interior designer and takes routine trips to California, Mississippi and Ohio. Their conversations circulated around love and even getting married this December. However, things slowly went awry.

In September of 2015, Jenny asked the victim to open a bank account and help her transfer money for her job because she was, "Extremely Busy," according to the police report. The victim agreed and soon began sending and receiving money for their new account. As time went on, the victim noticed that he had sent about $25,000 to Nigeria.

The victim, realizing that something wasn't adding up with his new love named Jenny, called the Murfreesboro Police Department. The report shows that the victim is now out some 25 grand. The case has been labeled as fraud and is under investigation.
