Murfreesboro man to be extradited to New York, New York on three larceny charges

A man wanted by authorities in New York on three larceny charges was apprehended in Murfreesboro on Monday. 33-Year old Derek S. O’Brien was placed in handcuffs when police showed up at his place of employment. The charges stemmed from a case in New York, New York.

Detectives from The Empire State called police in Murfreesboro to let them know that they determined O’Brien was currently living in the area of Lascassas Pike.  Officers then gathered information about his current employer and proceeded to his work address. He was arrested without incident.

O’Brien is now awaiting extradition by New York authorities. As of Tuesday morning, he was still at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
