On Wednesday morning, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Surgicenter held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new location on Shelbyville Pike at Volunteer Road.

CEO Joey Peay said it made more sense to build a satellite location than to add on to their current structure, due to the growing population and traffic patterns.



The new location will offer a variety of specialty services.

Construction on the new 29,000 square foot structure should start late August or early September and possibly open by Spring of 2019.



MORE DETAILS: This 29,000 square foot building, located at 3626 Shelbyville Pike in Murfreesboro, TN, will house several specialties and services including: Internal and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Spine, Joint and Pain, Rheumatology, selected Laboratory and Radiology services.

"As an organization, we see the tremendous growth occurring in our community and realize that we must continue to grow our physician population and our facilities to maintain appropriate healthcare services. The new location on Shelbyville Pike will be the first of these expansions over the next several years as Murfreesboro Medical Clinic grows to meet the community's medical needs," noted Joey Peay, Chief Executive Officer of MMC.
