Murfreesboro Police Officer Announces Run for Local Office

We have more news on the political front. MPD Officer Matthew Roe announced his campaign for the 17th district of the Rutherford County Commission. The seat is currently held by Commissioner Jeff Phillips. 

Roe is a career law enforcement officer who started with the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority - Department of Public Safety from 2004 to 2008. In 2008 he was hired by the Murfreesboro Police Department, where he is today.

According to a press release, Roe has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Bethel University and is currently working on his Master’s Degree.  He currently serves as President of the Local Fraternal Order of Police Chapter 54.
