Murfreesboro Police Recover Stolen Police Handgun on Wednesday

A vehicle that was stolen in the area of Hickman, Tennessee was recovered in Murfreesboro on Wednesday. Police spotted the Chevy HHR SUV parked behind 724 N. Walnut Street.

Police did an inventory of the car after the area around it was secured. Inside the vehicle they found a.45 caliber  Glock handgun that had been stolen from a LaVergne Police Cruiser. Officers also recovered a .45-caliber magazine for the gun and ammunition. 

The Murfreesboro Police Department is now working with Smith County Authorities to determine who stole the SUV and the gun.
