Now through August 11th Oaklands Historic House Museum continues to explore their secrets of the past. Suspense writer Denise Daisy spoke to several overflow crowds Saturday evening in the rumored to be haunted parlor.

She was born in Murfreesboro and went to school at Hobgood and Central, married and moved to California. Her mother, who still lives here, and a daughter who is attending MTSU, are trying to persuade her to move back.

Daisy is described as one of the purest storytellers of all times, and that was evidenced during her first presentation when a young on-looker got scared and had to leave. As the dim light from the chandalier dimmed and flickered several times, she painted a verbal picture of a strange bug eyed short man with lots of hair. She encountered him in two of her homes, but as she got close to the figure--he flatened into and then through the walls.

This story style comes to life in her new series, "The Haret", which depicts places here in the 'Boro. If you dare, her other writings include Thirteen for Dinner, The Moonshine Series, The Storyteller's Secret and more. Check her website at http://booksbydenisedaisy.webs.com/
