Recently, Ron Merritt of Murfreesboro donated a very unique, hand-made quilt to the Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross

The quilt is made up of vintage American Red Cross Blood Donor t-shirts that Merritt and his friend, Sue Allen, have collected over the years as they are both lifetime blood donors.

The quilt was stitched together by Jackie Pearson of Antioch, who donated her labor for the project, and who is also a long-time supporter of the American Red Cross.

“We are so thankful to Ron, Sue and Jackie for their generous donation,” said Chapter Executive, Mike Cowles.  “We plan for the quilt to be auctioned off at our 2013 Mash Bash event to help raise funds for our Chapter.”

The quilt is currently on display in the lobby of the Heart of Tennessee Chapter facility located at 501 Memorial Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
