According to a study conducted by the UT Center for Business and Economic Research, Rutherford County's population is forecasted to reach 420-thousand residents by year 2030. As Rutherford County continues to grow, so does the city of Murfreesboro. City Manager Rob Lyons told WGNS they are in the process of putting together a new Comprehensive Plan. The comprehensive plan, once formulated and adopted, will serve as the principal guide for community and governmental decision making regarding land use, zoning, recreation plans and more.
