Police assisted a woman at the local probation office on Tuesday after she allegedly made six calls to MPD Dispatch about non police related items over a two day period. Officers talked to Mary Ann Poteete at Providence Community Corrections about the matter and informed her not to call back, unless there was a real matter to discuss. According to the report, “Dispatch stated Ms. Poteet was intentionally trying to disrupt emergancy services with inappropriate calls.” The report further stated, “Ms. Poteete stated she called intentionally on all those times just because she was mad and felt the dispatcher was rude. Ms. Poteete stated she had no police matter, but wanted to get her point across.” What was the point that she wanted to get across? Apparently the point was that she thought dispatch was rude. Of course, she is accused of calling for non-emergancy related items.

Ms. Poteet was not arrested, but warned not to call back unless a real emergency should arise.
