A flash drive that is used in some cell phones and computers was seized as evidence by Murfreesboro Police on Thursday during a drug arrest. The clues that led to officers checking the flash drive started with a call by DCS.

Officers went to a mobile home on Medical Center Parkway after receiving a call from the Department of Children Services about possible narcotics in a rear bedroom. Once on the scene police questioned 31 year old Dawn Renee Nicholas. The arresting officer wrote in a report, “I began to speak with Mr. Nicholas and she seemed very hyper and was unable to sit still.” It was then determined that Nicholas had used methamphetamine prior to the arrival of a DCS worker.

During a field interview, Nicholas allegedly told police that she was the “middle man” in a bigger picture. In the report it is stated, “Ms. Nicholas stated that she receives the product and pinches off about a gram.” A flash drive was later found in a bottom drawer of the female’s dresser that contained prices of meth per gram. In addition to the flash drive and the meth that was located in the home, police also found several syringes.

Nicholas was charged with the felony possession of a schedule two drug with the intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. The reason for DCS to visit the home was not released. As of Friday afternoon, Nicholas has not made bond and is still being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
