A woman in Murfreesboro called the police on the morning of July 4th to report that she awoke to her male next door neighbor in her bed.

The 35 year old victim told officers that her neighbor woke her up while kissing her neck. The woman quickly asked the acquaintance what he was doing to which he replied, "C'mon baby, you know you want it." At that point the woman immediately told the man to leave.

The offense has been labeled as a sexual battery and aggravated criminal trespassing case. While a rape did not occur, statistics show that the victims in most cases are attacked by someone they know. According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), 3 out of 4 rapes are committed by someone known to the victim.

Murfreesboro Police spoke to the suspect who lives on North Academy Street and he denied being in the females home when the incident occurred.

The case is now in the hands of detectives.
