Name of Victim Killed in Saturday FIRE Released

The elderly female that died in a mobile home fire at 1706 North Tennessee Boulevard on Saturday has been identified as 71 year old Margarite Autrey. Ms. Autrey was home alone when the fire occurred. Her roommate was displaced as a result of the fire, but was offered assistance from the American Red Cross.

 

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department and Murfreesboro Police Department worked until sunset conducting their respective investigations on Saturday. The Fire Marshals' Office obtained samples and sent them off for testing. Preliminary results may take a few weeks.

 

According to Assistant Fire Marshal Tracy Summar, the department could have a few answers as early as Monday, pending autopsy results. "I appreciate the support of all agencies involved in this investigation and the cooperation of the surrounding community," said Summar.

 

The fire remains under investigation.
