There's a lot of confusion as to when we have to dial the area code for every phone number called. People are asking isn't that change date set for February? Yes, but it's the last day.

On February 28th, whether you're calling you neighbor next door, or someone in Nashvile, Franklin, Springfield, Gallatin--or anyone in the current 615 area code...you must include the area code when dialing. AT&T warns, if you don't--the call won't go through.

In other words, the old 615 area code will also include the new 629 starting February 28th. In all likelihood, persons with a 615 number won't be changed. Only persons getting new service will be the 629 area code. That's why you could have a person next door with a 629 while you have 615 area code.

If you think that's confusing, wait until February 28th. Again, that's the day you must dial ten numbers for every call that you make.
