New candidate in the running for the Rutherford County Road Superintendent

Republican Robert Alsup announced he has qualified as a candidate for Rutherford County Road Superintendent.

Alsup is the owner and operator of Alsup Excavating where for over two decades he has gained experience in road construction, subdivision development, supervision of employees and budget management.

Alsup's plans as Road Superintendent include utilizing his unique experience to prepare for the continuing growth that Rutherford County is experiencing while striving to develop the safest and most efficient roadways in the state of Tennessee. Additionally, as Superintendent, Alsup plans to work closer with local, state and federal leaders to address to roadway and transportation needs facing Rutherford County.

"As a lifelong resident of Rutherford County, I share the concerns of my friends and neighbors concerning a desire for safer, more efficient roadways in our county. I have always believed in giving back to my community, and I feel my experience and dedication will allow me to best serve our county as we continue preparing for current and future expected growth."

In addition to the overseeing of road construction, supervision of employees and budget management as owner of Alsup Excavating Robert has also served with the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department for over 30 years.

A lifetime resident of Rutherford County, Alsup is a graduate of Oakland High School and Volunteer State Community College.

Alsup and his wife Stacey have two children, Avery and Robert, and they are active members of Bethel Community Church.

Alsup will be a candidate in the March 1st, 2016 Republican primary.
