An infant in Murfreesboro is the reported victim of alleged drug abuse. 23 Year old Vanessa M. Cleveland is facing aggravated assault and reckless endangerment charges after giving birth to a newborn that tested positive for opiates, cannabinoids, and methadone. Cleveland was indicted by the February Grand Jury.

The new mother allegedly told police that she took oxymorphone and methadone while pregnant. After the baby was born, the child was suffering from drug withdraws and needed extended medical attention.

Cleveland will appear in court on February 19^th.
