Melissa Harrell has decided to make the run for Circuit Court Clerk in Rutherford County. Harrell told WGNS in a press release that she is a small business owner and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Harrell is seeking the Republican nomination for the seat. She stated, “I know how to balance a budget and run a business and have firsthand insight into the needs and requirements of the court system.”

Harrell is the President of Discovery Investigations and owner of AAAA Bonding Company, LLC.

Currently, the Rutherford County Circuit Court Clerk is Laura Bohling. Bohling, a Republican, was elected in 2010 and replaced long serving Democrat Eloise Gaither.
