The Rutherford County Farmers' Market is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to noon at the Lane Agri-Park Community Center, 315 John R. Rice Blvd, Murfreesboro. As always, it is a producer only market.

Here are the free weekly classes at the Farmer's Market for the upcoming week

Sept 22nd

"Eat Your Yard" is the topic on Tuesday, Sept 22nd. The class is presented by Linda Lindquist, Certified Master Gardener. This is a class on sneaking fruits and vegetables into your home landscape. It is especially useful for people with limited gardening space. This Rutherford County Farmer's Market class is free and begins at 9 a.m. in the Lane Agri-Park Community Center, located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd.

Sept 25th

On Friday, September 25th, the topic is "Miniature Gardening and Fairy Houses" given by Master Gardeners Barbara Mullins and Corrine Morgan. This class is about bringing a little enchantment to your miniature garden. The idea is perfect for pots and shade! This event is free and is from 9 a.m.to noon in the Lane Agri-Park Community Center, located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd.

New to the Market

New to the Farmer's Market is the ongoing demonstration program called, "Farmers' Market Fresh." Sisters June Holt and Marlena Gregory prepare a dish and offer samples from one of the in season fruit or vegetable. The recipes for the dishes will be provided as well as other literature on preserving food. This booth will be open about 9 a.m. to noon on both Tues and Fri.
