New York Man Charged with Credit Card Fraud in the 'Boro

A New York man has been charged with credit card fraud here in Murfreesboro. According to Murfreesboro Police reports, 22-year old Manuel Pelayes of Woodbourne, New York, was arrested after the victim discovered three charges on his credit card that were unauthorized. Pelayes was staying in the apartment with his friend, who was a roomate of the victim.

The victim told M-P-D that he found receipts inside the apartment on Saturday that he didn't authorize on his card. The victim's roommate also confirmed the purchases. Because Pelayes told police he was planning to leave to go back to New York on Sunday, he was placed into custody. He was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on five-thousand dollars bond. Pelayes will answer to the charges in General Sessions Court on January 21st.
