The Tennessee Career Coach, a bus filled with ideas to help you get a job, will be at the La Vergne Public Library from 10:00AM to 4:00PM on Wednesday, January 23rd. The bus will offer a résumé writing workshop and other job search-related services.

“Although the county’s unemployment rate has dropped in recent months, we still see a lot of people filing for benefits or filling out job applications on the library’s computers,” said Library Director Teresa Wilberscheid.  “A well crafted resume can really influence any prospective employer’s first impression of you as a job-seeker. You want it to be an accurate portrayal of your skills and abilities, as well as being attractive and grammatically correct. Therefore, the goal of this workshop is to help as many citizens as possible with this process.”

 Absolutely Free

Open to the public and free of charge, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Career Coach is a mobile computer lab equipped with 10 laptop workstations and Internet access, as well as a printer, fax machine, and copier.

 Just Show Up

Pre-registration is not required, but to gain access to the bus and its trained staff, interested parties need two forms of identification – a photo ID and Social Security card are preferred, but school ID cards, birth certificates, permanent resident cards, and passports will also be accepted.
