At 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning (1/5/2013) around 400 braved the 38-degree temps and were a part of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department's 10th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at SportsCom.

SportsCom's Director Bart Fite told WGNS News . . .

Murfreesboro Mayor Tommy Bragg wecomed the plungers to the outside water park at SportsCom . . .

In addition, City Councilman Doug Young was on hand. He jumped, and we asked him if he had been in all ten of these annual events . . .

Each year the participants bring non-perishable food items for the Murfreesboro City School's Food Bank.
