Alabama fugitive from justice busted in Murfreesboro after trying to buy gun

The rule of thumb is, do not attempt to purchase a gun if you are a fugitive from justice. WGNS' Rafferty Cleary has more on this story.

Verbatim: 27-Year old Clifton Robert Smith was arrested in Murfreesboro after trying to buy a gun at Tenn-Pawn located at 350 North West Broad Street. According to the arrest report, the Tennessee Instant Check System alerted local police that Smith was attempting to buy a firearm. The alert was made when the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation indicated that the subject had an active warrant for his arrest out of Alabama.

Police quickly arrived at the pawn shop and explained to Smith the reason for their visit. After confirming his identity, police took the subject into custody. Alabama plans to extradite the man in the near future.
