A robbery that occurred at the South Church Street Mapco Gas Station near I-24 on Saturday appears to have been solved. The clerk who was working at the time of the holdup told police the robber entered the store wearing solid black clothing and handed him a note that read, “Give me all the money or I’m going to kill you.” The message was pretty clear to the victim so he handed the subject less than $100 in cash and the unknown man fled the gas station in a conversion van with out of state tags.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office spotted the van on I-24 and gave chase. As the van neared Bell Road it wrecked and deputies quickly moved in to make an arrest.
