Corn Oil Leak at CoOp in LaVergne, tN

A corn oil leak was discovered Monday morning, October 7, at the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, 180 Old Nashville Highway in La Vergne.  Approximately 4,000 gallons of corn oil were released.

Environmental clean-up crews are on-site, possibly for several days to remediate the product.

All state and local agencies have been contacted and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is the lead agency.

“All appropriate actions were in place upon the city’s arrival on the scene,” said Rick McCormick, Emergency Services Coordinator of La Vergne. “There is no immediate danger to the health and safety of the public.
