Rutherford County School Assistant Superintendent for Engineering and Construction Gary Clardy tells about the use of geothermal wells and metal gabled roofs to make the schools more energy efficient as well as lasting longer.

Clardy told about a new 30,000 square foot addition that would be built at Eagleville School. The facility will include additional classrooms, an auditorium suitable for live theatrical productions, additional cafeteria space and more. Construction will begin this summer and will take about a year to complete.

That community is in the process of building a sewer system, and it will allow more homes, retail and educational facilities. The area is preparing for a population growth, especially with the dramatically improved New Salem Highway (state route 99) that connects Murfreesboro and I-24 to Eagleville.
