Traffic will be congested from the School Resource Officers' LoneStar Rodeo about 5 p.m. through 10 p.m. Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at Miller Coliseum on Thompson Lane.

SROs expect between 4,000 and 5,000 people to attend the rodeo Friday and Saturday nights.

Cpl. Mark Mack said the Sheriff's Office asks drivers to seek alternative routes during these time periods to avoid the congestion.

People who are attending the rodeo from Northwest Broad Street will be diverted into the second coliseum entrance while traffic from Memorial Boulevard will be routed into the main entrance. The two right lanes will be designated for rodeo traffic only. Handicapped parking will be accessible through the main entrance.

Overflow parking will be guided to Siegel Middle School where people will be driven to the coliseum by free shuttle service. Pedestrians are asked not to walk from the middle school because of lack of lighting and safety issues.
