We've learned more about the arrest in Murfreesboro of a woman accused of hitting a Nolensville Police officer. Murfreesboro Officer Jason Lamb reports he was on Independence Way when he heard a "be on the lookout" for 35-year old Janice Lee. That's when he followed the vehicle to her residence there.

Lamb says when she arrived and approached her vehicle in the driveway, Lee locked herself inside the car. Several other officers arrived on the scene, but no one could get her to unlock the door. It wasn't until family members gave them the keyless entry code to open the car and get Lee out.

Lee was charged with resisting stop, frisk and halt. She's also facing charges for the incident in Williamson County.

As we reported earlier, Lee is suspected of striking Nolensville Officer David Hazlett with her car and dragging the officer, who also lost his taser in her car as he was trying to deploy it. Hazlett was treated at StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna for non-life threatening injuries.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

After a couple of hours searching for a woman who allegedly hit a Nolensville Police officer with her vehicle, she was found in Murfreesboro.

Nolensville Police say the incident happened around 10 Wednesday morning, when Officer David Hazlett was doing a welfare check on a "suspected mental patient," who has been identified as 35-year-old Janice M. Lee. That's when the officer was struck by the vehicle. We've also learned she allegedly dragged the officer, who was attempting to deploy his taser.

They report she had a knife at the time of the initial incident along with the officer's taser, which fell into the car when he was dragged. Hazlett was taken to Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

You may recall Hazlett was stabbed several times back in March while responding to a call. He was awarded the Purple Star for his service just this past May.

Nolensville Police, which is in Williamson County, were joined by authorities in surrounding counties in searching for the Lee.
