UPDATE: Murder on Burks Hollow Road

We have an update on a murder that took place on July 25th on Burks Hollow Road in Rutherford County. Of the two suspects who were charged with the first-degree murder of 45-year old Kevin Barrett, one has a new court appointed attorney. Suspect James Lamendola, age 20, was appointed a new attorney after a conflict of interest was found with his first attorney. Co-defendant Aaron Walker, age 22, will keep his attorney.  The two men were charged by detectives with murder, especially aggravated robbery, especially aggravated kidnapping, burglary and theft on July 26th. Lamendola was also charged with three counts of violation of probation.

The two men are accused of killing Barrett at his Burks Hollow Road home, located near Bradyville Pike in southern Rutherford County.  The two men allegedly killed Barrett after holding his wife at gunpoint. Barrett was killed when he walked in his home from outside to see what was going on. Lamendola and Walker will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on October 26th.
