Jail Population Nearly 1,000 in Rutherford County

There are 928 inmates in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center this month. That number includes 771-male inmates and 157-female inmates. Of the inmates in the jail, 67% are white, 31% are black and 2% are classified as “other. The average age of the jail population is 33-years old. 414-inmates are in jail on misdemeanor charges and 514 are facing felonies.

BULLETIN: New Hours at Social Security Office
The Murfreesboro Social Security Office has reduced public office hours 30-minutes each weekday. It is now open Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. PLUS: the office now closes at NOON every Wednesday. Social Security employees will continue to work their regular shifts, but this change allows time for face-to-face consultations as well as processing more claims.
