Murfreesboro Police arrested the mother of three young kids after responding to a home on Old Salem Road to assist the Department of Children Services in checking the welfare of the children. Officers wrote in a report filed on Thursday, “The house was in a state of disrepair and in a filthy and unkempt condition and had a foul odor. The children were all dirty and unkempt.” The report goes on to describe that bugs were seen in the home and garbage was all over the floor of the house at 728 Old Salem Road.
As a result of the mother allegedly allowing her three children to live in filth, Shaunta E. McNamara was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment. The children were released to the custody of DCS. The 28-year old woman will appear in court on October 25.
