Siegel High Helps Fund Cancer Research

Siegel High School’s FBLA and DECA will host the second annual Fall Marketplace for a Cure and Prevention of Cancer on October 27, 2012 from 9a.m.-5p.m. Because of the success of last year’s event, $462.00 was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

The Fall Marketplace vendors include handmade items of jewelry and hand painted ornaments as well as direct sales representatives from Jaci’s Jewels, Pampered Chef, and others.  Vendors will be set up in theSiegelHigh School theater/gymnasium hallway, cafeteria and courtyard.  In addition to the retail booths, the Fall Marketplace will include information booths on health, cancer treatments, and organizations that assist cancer patients such as the American Cancer Society and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Blood Assurance will also be on site to host a blood drive and bone marrow registry. If you donate blood or register your DNA, you will be put in a drawing for a great prize.

Siegel High School is conveniently located off Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, TN at 3300 Siegel Rd. Admission to the Fall Marketplace will be free. Donations will be accepted at various booths for American Cancer Society, Blood Assurance and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Proceeds from booth fees will benefit SiegelHigh School’s FBLA and DECA organizations in order to finance state competitions. In 2012, over 14 members of DECA and FBLA advanced from regional to international level of academic competition. Participation in DECA and FBLA encourages members to be civic minded, academically prepared, and professionally responsible.

Crafters and retailers can secure booth space by contacting Stacie Andersen (andersens@rcschools.net) or Tristan Brown (brownt@rcschools.net) atSiegelHigh School. Booth fees start at $50. Additional fees include: $5 per table; $10 for electricity (limited space); and a $5 boxed lunch.
