The Golf Club Scam Hits Murfreesboro

Here’s a strange scam involving golf clubs. A man who goes by the name of Ken Ready is visiting golf courses in the south and buying expensive clubs with bogus checks. The man, who witnesses described as well dressed and well spoken, recently hit the Old Fort Park Golf Course where he wrote a check for a $399 club. During conversation with the worker at the golf pro shop, he told them he was a former golf pro who lives in Bell Meade. The man doesn’t just say he lives in Bell Meade though; he tells the folks at golf pro shops throughout the south that he lives in a mansion.

The PGA was made aware of the man’s scam and has sent a warning out to golf stores throughout the country.
