The monster issue of the night at the Murfreesboro City Council; rezoning 15.9 acres along Memorial Blvd. in North Murfreesboro to commercial zoning, even though no businesses or companies have yet expressed interest publicly in the property.  Residents of the area were bitterly, but seemingly evenly divided on the matter, which was passed through, but must go through 2 more votes before becoming official.  Additionally, the Airport Layout Plan, voted down several weeks ago, will undergo a reconsideration at the October 18th meeting of the council, following a community meeting where citizens may voice concerns.  Details of that meeting are forthcoming.
