WGNS now has more news on the reported stabbing which took place in the Bonefish Grill parking lot on Thursday afternoon. Police say they first responded to Middle Tennessee Medical Center around 5-pm when staff at the hospital called them to report a stabbing victim.

When police entered the medical facility they learned that victim Tommy Padregas drove himself to the hospital after being stabbed in the restaurant parking lot at the corner of Thompson Lane and Medical Center Parkway. When detectives first arrived, they were unable to speak with Padregas because of his condition, he was listed as a critical patient. The 41-year old victim was stabbed in the abdomen and the hand. The injuries were said to be life threatening.

After police left the hospital, they headed to the Bonefish Grill parking lot. They taped off the parking lot and refused to let customers enter or leave the restaurant while the investigation got underway.

Murfreesboro Police arrested the suspect several hours after the stabbing occurred.  Police arrested 43-year old Anthony Dixon. The homeless man evidently got into an argument with Padregas prior to stabbing him. Dixon was in his vehicle when the argument started. He then exited his car with a weapon in hand and allegedly stabbed the victim.

Dixon was charged with attempted first degree murder. He will appear in court on November 7th. He was not released on bond and is being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
