UPDATE: Shooting in LaVergne

We have more news on that attempted murder that occurred in LaVergne on Tuesday morning. Police say that two men shot a victim multiple times in front of his two young children during a home invasion. Inside the home, officers discovered marijuana, pills and cash. Detectives are now looking into the shooting to determine if it was drug related.

The shooting occurred on Hickory Street at 3-AM, this past Tuesday morning. Apparently, four adults and two children were in the home when the attack took place. The victim says the children were asleep, but awoke when there was a loud knock at the door.

The victim was identified as 26-year old Randy Malone. Police say he was pistol whipped and then shot multiple times. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where he is said to be in stable condition.

The two gunmen were wearing hoodies and one had his face covered with a bandana. They have not been caught. Again, police are trying to determine if this shooting was drug related.
