Next TASK FORCE Meeting September 2nd

The public is welcome to attend the next Murfreesboro 2035 Task Force meeting in the Council Chambers of City Hall (111 W. Vine Street) on Wednesday evening, September 2, 2015, from 5:30 to 7:00PM. The committee is made-up of a broad-section of the community, including business owners, community leaders and citizens.

A presentation from consultant Kendig Keast Collaborative about Land Use & Character as it relates to Murfreesboro's quality of life, community character, and growth capacity. This is the draft on Chapter 4 in the long range plan. on draft Chapter 4, Land Use & Character, The Task Force is part of the 2-year process of developing a comprehensive plan for the City of Murfreesboro called Murfreesboro 2035: Our Future Begins Now.

The consultant firm will also present an update on the Murfreesboro 2035 plan to the Planning Commission at the regular scheduled meeting, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 7 p.m., and a discussion of Priorities Guiding the Murfreesboro 2035 Plan to the City Council, Thursday, September 3, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. Subconsultant Neel-Shaffer, Inc. continues to analyze traffic, growth, and future land use in preparation for the Major Thoroughfare Plan to be presented in Fall 2015.

Murfreesboro 2035 is a community-wide process to plan for the next 20 years of growth and development. The final results of the two-year planning process is the City of Murfreesboro's Comprehensive Plan, a community guidebook that specifies policy, program, and project initiatives for the City.
