Nissan in Smyrna Opens New Battery Plant - 1,000 More Jobs Created

Nissan in Smyrna has just announced that 1,000 new jobs will be created with the opening of their lithium-ion battery plant. The battery plant was built to manufacture the power source for the new Nissan Leaf, which will be produced on the same line as the Altima and Maxima. The battery plant was opened on Wednesday.

The Murfreesboro Social Security Office has reduced public office hours 30-minutes each weekday. It is now open Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. PLUS: the office now closes at NOON every Wednesday.
