No Need for a Wheel Tax Sticker, No Savings to Rutherford Residents

The Rutherford County Clerk may soon save over $13,000 annually by not purchasing wheel tax stickers, but those savings will not be passed down to the tax payer. An idea that must meet the muster of the Rutherford County Commission and the General Assembly would eliminate the need to have a wheel tax sticker, but not the need of the wheel tax. By not purchasing the wheel tax stickers to be placed on license plates, the county would save a little over $13,000 annually. The wheel tax costs residents of Rutherford County $52.50 annually, a cost that would not be reduced if this measure were to pass.
