People are asking if there is a "rain date" for the Christmas Parade? No--the parade has only been cancelled for icy streets. Temps are forecast to be near 70 on Sunday (12/9/2012), and there are no plans to cancel the parade as a result of rain.

This has pretty much been the case with such well-known parades as the big ones on Thanksgiving or the Rose Bowl.

It is left up to the judgement of parents as to whether or not they wish to have their children participate in the parade if it is raining.

Co-Grand Marshals

A talented local brother and sister duo will serve as Co-Grand Marshals of the Rutherford County Christmas Parade. Colton Dixon and his sister and his sister Schyler, who both performed on American Idol, will be the celebrities in the spotlight.

Parade Starts 2PM Sunday Afternoon

The Christmas Parade begins at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon (12/9/2012) at the corner of East Main Street and Middle Tennessee Boulevard, in front of the MTSU president's home.

It travels down East Main, around the square, onto West Main, and ends on Walnut Street.
