New statistics on handgun carry permits has been released in Tennessee. According to LegallyArmed.com, there are 14,048 handgun permit holders in Rutherford County. During a past count there were 13,778 permit holders. That is 270-more handgun permit holders than in previous reports.  Rutherford County ranks number five in the state for the number of residents with a valid handgun permit.

In the entire state, there are 371,893 active handgun permit holders. That is an increase of 5,490 handgun permit holders within the past 30-days.
